Yellow Emperor Tulip

Growing Emperor Tulips (Tulipa fosteriana): Like their close relatives the Wildflower Tulips, Emperors greet the spring as the first Tulip blooms of the season, and they are reliably perennial, returning year after year. Emperor Tulips produce huge flowers with petals that spread out luxuriously, blooming on tall, sturdy stems for a spectacular display in gardens and cut flower bouquets. Emperor Tulips perennialize readily, so you can plant once and enjoy the display for years to come. To encourage their return, plant in full sun with well-drained soil, where they can stay as dry as possible when dormant. After flowering is done, allow foliage to die back naturally to feed the bulbs for next season’s blooms.
